I vote for long sleeve T-shirts for the Big E since unless we are having Indian Summer like temps, it will be cool by concert time! V-necks are much more flattering than crew necks. Wink

Either the shirt color or the graphics/lettering should be on the bright side IMO so we stand out....not black or white. Perhaps turquoise, orange, purple, lime green, or hot pink.... anything that will be very visible in the crowd of thousands! w00t

NESP Woohoo NESP Highfive
There is a guy local here that can do them while you wait. I had one made for Taylor, my first gift for him, back for the AI concert in Providence. Either you bring design or he'll help you design. Nice guy.
Reasonable price.
Let me know if you want me to follow up.....I have no idea if he does volume but could ask.

Mari - merch booth before the show or during opening act, no crowds, get to interact with Taylor's merch guy....oh what is his name? He is so sweet, friend of Taylor's from Alabama I think. Nice guy, calls me "dear", southern accent, beard, nice smile....

OH NO....almost got off track.....

I think purple is good....with grey letters for Tshirt
Smile
I like the v-neck style...if it's cool, I can wear a coordinating long sleeved jersey underneath. That's what I do with my Red Sox tee...wear a long sleeved red shirt under it when it gets chilly.
grimsby,
his name is Stephen - - and you're right he is a sweetheart.
He said in Cohasset that there was a new really pretty and feminine design in the works for summer - the lavender tee with a butterfly sounds very nice.
The mdse he was talking about being stuck in LA seemed to be stuff stored from the spring tour.

ETA: just remembered something - - think the other item Steve mentioned was playing cards

Back to NESP shirts

Agree with Seger - -  definitely V-necks or scoop necks - pretty please Smile

will emphasize that think we should stay consistent with our "look"  that is already out there  - -  the shooting star logo and saying "will travel for Taylor Hicks " Tricia created for the water bottles looks really nice - -
catchy but classy  Grin

Am tired and lazy so bringing my comments over from another earlier thread in gifts - - the purple reference was for fabric markers on silvery gray

Quote:
seems like we've stumbled into "southern purple" being our trademark color - - 1st the beads, then the great water bottles, the cowbells, Liz's super glow bracelets idea   [the band - or at least Brian - knows that's a way to spot us now I think ] - - - so guess I would go with purple

and as far as NESP shirts - - do we really have to look any further than what Tricia has already done ? ?
I love what she did with the water bottles - - think it would translate perfectly to a T-shirt - - and we've already used a "silvery gray" shirt color so why not keep a consistent  "look" going ? ? ? ?

only thing I wish we would look at is finding a V-neck or a scoop neck shirt - have noticed a lot of us wear them -  they are much more flattering for almost all women than the crew neck  [ as the What Not To Wear duo would point out  ]

made a photcopy from the bottle and have played with it on a v-neck and think it would work with only minor tweaking  - - the star shooting up the shoulder looks really cool and kinda classy - - just like us right ?
or could put the logo and the travel saying on the back and just have NESP on the front ? ?
then if they wanted to people could even have their name embroidered under it by a local shop ?

Agree with "will travel for Taylor Hicks", scoop neck (V neck second choice), prefer short sleeved but long sleeved might be OK too (I'm always warm & wear sleeveless & short sleeve in winter)

....so are we grey shirts with purple letters?

Stephen! That's it....such a very nice man. I have a photo of him smiling looking directly at camera while Taylor is signing or chatting with someone.....Smile
grimsby - - I'd love to see that picture - if don't know how to it post here [me either] - could you email it to me through the NESP addy ? ?
We can buy Taylor's merchandise and create our own too. Most of
our creations have a charity involvement so it's okay to go for a better
price to do a good deed Huggy

Mari, I can put you in touch with my friend who does the shirts...will
look up her number tomorrow...Smile She did mention silk screen is
better than heat press/iron on-lasts much longer and looks better. I
was looking into that for the official shirts we do, but am open to
suggestions from people that know what they're doing Cool
Silk screen definitely holds up better ! !
we've done promotional shirts different ways and would always go with silk screening if doing quantities
set up fees usually are too costly for very small runs

we have a small business up here that does a really good job with embroidered logos - sayings - etc.

was thinking maybe we could also have a NESP hat done for Taylor from the T-shirt design ? ?

just a thought
I'm just going to summarize some ideas I've read here and throw out a few of my own.

No more crew necks, that is a definite! Whether we go with scoop or vee will probably depend on what is available through whoever ends up doing the printing. As for sleeves, since we're talking about a fall event, either longsleeve or hoodies makes sense. There are at least two people (me included) who simply do not wear longsleeves. So if possible, we should have multiple options.

I can promise y'all I will not be doing iron-ons in this quantity! I don't have a heat press, although I've been toying with the idea of getting one of those small, tabletop silk screeners from AC Moore. For the initial run, though, finding a good cost on silk screening will be our priority. Whoever ends up putting the start-up cost on their credit card (not me, I have a very low credit limit!) will be much happier if we keep the cost down.

For colors, I'm seeing a definite tendency toward wanting to stand out, but also wanting to keep our current "branded" colors. (Tricia, remember we were talking about trademarks and servicemarks the other night? This might be a good time to start putting (SM) next to the logo. I think non-profits count as service providers, but I'll check later.) Back to color: our colors are that pretty purple and light teal. If Taylor's already got a lavender shirt in his merch stock, would anyone be interested in wearing a teal t-shirt? Any hoodie would probably be gray, and I would lean toward putting the logo (large) on the back and optional embroidered names on the front.

So, in summary: A teal t-shirt, sleeve length TBD, either crew or v-neck, with the logo on the front; a gray hoodie with the logo on the back and optional embroidered name. Is that a pretty accurate synthesis of what everyone wants? (Any ideas I haven't used, we can save for when we open a full store! This is just for the Big E.)
I'd do teal...no problems there at all. All these ideas sound wonderful.
