Taylor will be in Charlottesville July 5.

Now this quote raises some questions:

Quote:
Hicks says he still can't get used to his fame. "I didn't anticipate the magnitude of it," he says. "When people recognize you when you're overseas, that's amazing for a country boy from Alabama."

When was he overseas??
Taylor, you can be private about certain things, but then when you throw us teasers, don't expect that our inquiring minds won't want to know....

"...says he's been writing songs with John Mayer and Robert Randolph for his next album."

Now THIS is exciting! I can't wait for that next album.

Also thought it was funny how he said he is still shocked that Daughtry didn't win AI.

You don't think he meant Hawaii, do you? Nah!

I'll tell you what crossed my mind.  A couple of weeks ago, there was a mystery post that appeared on TMS (?) from Bill on his brother's birthday.  He posted either two or three times with the last post saying something about it being late and he needed to get going.  It was only about 6pm Eastern Time.  So...where was it late?  It was questioned at the time but no one said anything further.  People thought they might have been in Europe at that time.

But, knowing Taylor the way we know Taylor...Hawaii is probably 'overseas'.  Bless his heart.Heart Haha

I do remember that post on TMS, they were supposedly on a little birthday trip. Hmm, interesting.

An interesting aside here. When I was checking website statistics, I was amazed to find out what countries people come from who visit our site. Latvia was one of them!

Latvia. That's really cool. I wonder if they became a member?

The World Wide Web is simply amazing. Karen D'V

Hey I remember reading a message from a fan on his My Space Page, something like I hear your in Europe hope your having a great time.I'm listening to Taylor right now and my two kids are singing at the top of their little lungs to Runaround and my 4 year old is playing his redRed Guitar  Can't wait till they get older so they can go to a Taylor concert w00t
Rumor Alert ! - - just so you know  Grin

Margaux - - am sure you saw the guessing on another site over the past few days as to why Taylor's schedule was changed to give him and the band time off from July 1 through the 4th

one popular theory was that he was going to go to the Diana tribute event in London  - -
and this was in Mandy/RagsQueen's recap of Charleston

Quote:
With a friend I had met in Jacksonville, we walked around back to the buses to see if Taylor was coming out. Security told us he was gone, and that he had left almost as soon as he left the stage because he had a flight to catch. We walked back to the front of the venue chatting away and then I was given a much appreciated ride to my hotel.

I know it is all circumstancial evidence but I really like the idea - - really hope he did go and that he got to rub elbows with a long list of musicians he admires  Smile

Tricia, that is really cool re the website stats. Somehow I wouldn't
have pictured Latvia coming up. The power of the web-wonderful but
scary at the same time Haha

I can't remember where I read the Europe stuff, but I saw comments
about that too (maybe it was the TMS thread) and also about some
connection with Diana's concert. Taylor the jet setter Tongue

I get all choked up thinking about him in Ray's studio crying-so cool
that he was invited to do that! w00tbounce

The video link is just above the picture at the start of the written version of the interview - also one bottom right in Featured Videos box -

This was a good interview for Taylor - as always he makes a good impression - - gentleman, good sense of humor - love the "Simon wink " - and that he is a serious musician

IMHO reinforcing the idea that the music is the driving force for him not the trappings of celebrity will serve him well in establishing the type of long term fan base he has indicated he would like
