This is an experiment - - - -
when I found this in my Alerts I wasn't sure if it was "thread worthy" or not - a nice story but only minor Taylor news - and I get a lot of "bits" like this through my alerts and also find things tucked into threads on other sites - so decided to try this approach - keeps the main category uncluttered but provides a place for little "bits" - -
please add things you find and we'll see  how it goes

Another notch in the karma wheel - - - - -

When "American Idol" Taylor Hicks takes the stage July 8 to perform at the Loudoun Summer Music Fest, he will also take the stage to help out Taylor Love, a 2-year-old who is battling cancer.

A special raffle will take place that night with a prize of meeting the 2006 American Idol after the show.

This is another one of those "sorta news" things that came in under blog alerts - if you follow it through it is the same Paramount interview that has been posted and is showing up in a number of publication alerts -  it is a nice piece for Taylor so that is a good thing

posted this because I find it very intriguing that Taylor is showing upon this site which would be gettiing traffic primarily for Kelly Clarkson - -

this is the 2nd Taylor linked with Kellie item I've rec'd - - figured the first one was a fluke but now I'm not so sure - -
obviously pure speculation but could we possibly have a little Idol alumni promotion going on ? ? ?   Smile
That is unusually linked through that Kelly Clarkson site, but what a nice little article. Thanks for posting it.
UPDATE on the Dan Aykroyd & Taylor sing-a-long courtesy of Josh again

"Turn on Your Love Light" was Dan's choice and the band was told to be prepared to do it

"Who Do You Love " was impromptu
You just never know what is going to show up in the blog alerts - can  be tiresome to wander through but sometimes the blind pig finds an acorn - - - -

This one isn't remotely news but it is amusing so . . . . .

God Bless Abraham Lincoln, Lance Armstrong, George Washington, Taylor Hicks, and Chris Wheeler.

Quote:
Greene: What can the audience at The Maryland Theatre expect during your performance July 6?
Hicks: I like to call it high-impact soul aerobics.

Greene: Can you give me more of a description for that? What do you mean by that?
Hicks: ... James Brown meets Richard Simmons.

The Greatest moment in American Sports History

The announcers gave quite possibly the best quotes of all time. Here were some of the best:

“If Joey Chestnut wins this competition, Google the word hero tomorrow, you’ll get Lincoln, Neil Armstrong, Taylor Hicks, and Chestnut.” Yes, they called Taylor Hicks an American Hero.
