The concert was fantastic -  Woohoo
The Paramount Theater is a historic theater in the city that has been renovated right down to the plaster on the wall. It is a beautiful theater inside. It is on the cobblestoned pedestrian mall in downtown Charlottesville and has an interesting and eclectic group of shops and restaurants surrounding it.Smile

The concert lasted approximately an hour and fifteen minutes with one encore. Taylor looked happy, relaxed, and was clearly having a blast. The crowd was a bit more sedate than at some others I have been at, but they still got into the concert.

Play list (partial) -

Gotta Move
The Deal
Hell of A Day
Medicated Goo
Night Shift teaser
My Friend
A Beatles song (I didn't recognize it)
Heart and Soul
Soul Thing
Just to Feel That Way
Heaven Knows
The Maze
Wherever I Lay My Hat
Runaround

The pictures turned out great - please check them out under the Photo thread.

Taylor was really tanned - I saw him get off the bus and he said hi briefly but he was on his cell phone, so walked right into the theater - but I did get a picture of him there; after the concert was over, Felix came out and "worked the crowd" - he was taking pictures with everyone and having a great time.

Then Taylor came out and signed autographs for everyone who had waited. It was nice to finally get to meet him and speak to him, even if only briefly. He was not rushed and looked very relaxed. He signed my ticket and a CD -

It was a great concert -Woohoo:woohoo:
Pat, so glad you got to meet him!! Woohoo Thanks for the recap
and the great photos! Next best thing to being there Huggy
Isn't it wonderful that a young artist like Taylor appreciates these historic theatres and has done so many of his shows in them - - a class act is our Mr. Hicks !

Wow, you did a great job remembering the songs -
I usually get so caught up in the music have to get memory prompts
from other people's setlists later  Grin
Hope you don't mind if I tweak it a little ??
was Night Shift tagged into Wherever I Lay My Hat by any chance ?
Gotta Move = Gonna Move
the Beatles song = Don't Let Me Down
do you remember if they finished with the Who song Going Mobile ?
if you aren't familiar with the song there aren't a lot of lyrics and the way
they do it might sound like a jam band style continuation off another song

Have never heard DLMD live - wonder if it will survive until the August shows . . . . .
Still chuckle over Margaux and I and someone else [?] hovering at the steps during the Hampton
Beach sound check trying to figure out what we were hearing - - Margaux really knows her music
but Taylor had stumped her with Medicated Goo - - it was the first night they played it and it is now
one of my favorite cover songs -
Compared To What still wins by a mile though for the fast tempo songs  Smile
Thanks for the recap, Pat. Glad you had a great time! I'm hearing a lot of good things from the Charlottesville show. It appears a brief vacation was very kind to Taylor!
Thanks everyone -

I live in Charlottesville and it is the first time I have been on the inside of that theater since it was renovated;

AH, I'll try my best here to see if I have some of your answers - Smile

   -  Of course it's Gonna Move - (I was typing too late)Roll Eyes

   -  You know, I was trying so hard to remember where Night Shift fit in . . .  .I do believe you are right - after Wherever I Lay My Hat - I just asked my husband and he thinks so too - Thanks!

   -  Yup - Don't Let Me Down was the Beatles song - thanks again for tweaking my memory

    -  He closed with 2 songs of his CD (two of the ones I listed) -unlike the other 2 times I saw him in the spring where he closed with covers - I can't remember those now; but the song you mentioned: He didn't close with Going Mobile, but it sounds very much like another song he "jammed " on a song with very few lyrics - at the end of some other song . . . . it very well could be he performed that - .

    -  I had never heard him sing Medicated Goo, so I was happy he chose to add it to the play list. I never would have recognized it (I never heard of the song before reading all the recaps) -

I enjoyed reliving the concert once more AH, through your questions -- I am going again tonight (Innsbruck, VA) and tomorrow night (suburban DC); two outdoor venues; I can't wait;  Woohoo

Stay tuned!!   Smile:)

Have " been there - done that " - in fact I think I've got the T-shirt !

Don't know if you were at GC but there were occasionally some late night posting parties when you went back in the next day with your fingers crossed  Haha

Glad you are OK with my notes - you did a great job and can't wait to hear about your next two shows - hope mother nature smiles on you weather-wise !

[ that's a wee tad of jealousy showing there - LOL ]
