Aw, man, you guys - I'm having a weak moment and just might be tearing up here...

We'll definitely take you Tricia! You've found 'The Right Place' - created The Greatest Place.
Haha The book has made me cry several times (and I'm normally
not like that) and now you guys are making me teary eyed Huggy

I think Tricia did hit the nail on the head-it's impressive to see someone that can stick to their path no matter how much people
try to discourage them. LOL Do you think we'll all have career changes
by the time we finish reading it? Rotfl
Thanks you guys! Huggy

I've told Liz this, but Stacey and I always say, "It's All Taylor's Fault." We use the word fault jokingly. But, I met Stacey because of Taylor, and Taylor brought us all together. For those things I will be forever grateful!

I just heard some whistling over my head - I think it was Mari's post sailing directly over it. Haha

I think Mari is just saying that it is the POP music, the easy chord, the music appreciation that makes you comfortable with your peers that will be most successful and which will be considered art.... while for others it is just the music and be damned who, what or where it comes from .... if you like it , it is art.

Many people just don't analyze music they just listen; others need to dig deeper and feel the music. Just my opinion on Mari's opinion.

mouser -- close enough!

I like your second paragraph, it's very true that some people do not feel the need to dig any deeper -- true about either music or other things in life.  I dig deep into music because, well, it is my life, perhaps not to the degree it is Taylor's, but let me put it this way... I'd rather go blind than go deaf.

And going back a few days and answering Liz's question about whether we'll all have career changes... well, I certainly will.  Going back to writing a lot more now, both fiction and lyrics/music, and I'm going to see where that takes me.  Even if I don't end up getting the creative career I've always wanted, I'm definitely changing jobs in the next year or so... certain things here I cannot live with anymore... and some elsewhere that I can't live without! Grin

This is a great discussion. But I wanted to bring up something I found amusing in this chapter...when he talked about his getting a tummy! His comment about middle america liking his tummy...well I think that is so true. At least I know I did!

Again, it pointed to his not being perfect. But I think it is his imperfections that make him perfect...if that makes any sense. He is not a glam boy put out there by some slick management team. He is real...and oh so lovable just the way he is.

A lesson for all of us, I would think.

You make lots of sense, Deb. Taylor reminds us of guys we know, and that's a big part of his appeal. Not too pretty, not one of the "every hair in place" guys... not afraid to sweat..

I agree with everyone when they say that a big part of Taylor's appeal is that he keeps it real.He has so many pluses it's hard to keep count. He's talented, handsome, gracious, and most important of all he's got a great sense of humor! What's not to love ?
