I'm sure one or more of us will have tales to tell once we're home from the bookstore. Post them here - where you bought it, the display, heck, even tell us the cashier's cavalier attitude when they rung it up for you.

OK. I'll get this started...
I arrive at the nearest Barnes & Noble to buy the book. As I am walking in, I'm wondering if there have been any others with the same mission heading into this store today, maybe one of the women walking in right in front of me.
I head right for the New Releases section, and there is NO TAYLOR HICKs book there! Instead of panicking, I head over to the desk and ask the guy there if they have the book. He looks it up on his computer and says yes, they just got it in today and it should be over in New Releases. I tell him I was just over there and did not see it, and he says let's go take a look.
So we get over to the New Releases section and I said to him, the book is bright red so should be easy to spot. He says he knows and that he doesn't understand why there are none there and suggests we try the Rock Music section. So we head over there, and he pulls the only copy left off the shelf and hands it to me. He says looks like this is the only one left, so you better take it and run. I thank him and say you must have sold this out already. He laughs (kinda like he doesn't believe it) and says I guess so.
So I thankfully leave with the last copy. I then head to the mall and stop at the B Dalton bookstore to see if they have it there. And there it is, right in the New Releases section right in the front of the store. There were three copies there. I didn't check the Rock Music section to see if there were more copies.
Now I have it in my hot little hands and plan to start reading it, either tonight or tomorrow morning....so I'll be joining the chapter threads shortly. WOO HOO!
So I go into the Boarders express and guess what no book.I looked in Bios new releases and just about everywhere else and NO BOOK! It was too crowded to wait for help because I ahd to be home in time for the kids so its bitter sweet. Im glad it was sold out but sad cuz I dont have one.
emmax - I read on the Boogie that people had asked Borders Express and they said they would not be getting them in until the 17th. You might want to try a Target or other book store.
I went to meet a friend for dinner tonight and went into my Mr. Paperback store. It's the only true bookstore in my area other than Walmart. After reading all the stories about Walmart not reporting their sales to any kind of list I didn't really want to buy my book from there. I have no idea if my local bookstore reports but figured if I'm going to throw my money somewhere I might as well give it to the little man.
My friend attended the Hampton Beach show with me, and she too wanted a copy of the book. There were none on the New Release shelf so I immediately headed to the biography section (next aisle over). They had 2 copies - I don't think they had sold any previous to our purchases. Now, they have no copes, because we bought both.
I had thought about heading into Walmart just to see the display and maybe play a little marketing magic but it was hot and getting late (MLB All-Star game on tonight...) and I didn't feel like dealing with the Acadia Park traffic tonight. Maybe I can run in this weekend and see how things look.
I was so upset that I wasn't going to have time get to Barnes and Noble to get my book. I bribed a friend at work to go and get it for me, but unfortunately her fiance is hospitalized....so no book again. (He's slowly recovering). I finally convince my husband to get his butt to any store he can think of to get my copy. Came home and said here ya go. He didn't mention having a hard time finding it, so I guess it all went well.
Hope you all end up with a copy soon if you didn't get one today. I'll be reading mine on the plane tomorrow on my way to Chicago. Which by the way I find out last week that I'll be 45 miles away from his show in Waukegan!!! Not to get off track or anything, but I just wish I had known sooner. I'd have gone to see it. Guess I'll just have to wait for the Big E.

I haven't gotten the book yet. But the audiobook is on the front page of iTunes. I was surprised to see it there just now.
I'm a little pissed re the book. I preordered months ago on Amazon
and didn't receive it. I ordered from our own promo right away and
didn't receive that one yet either. Bums me out that I've paid for two and still can't read it!! Had to refrain from going and just picking it up
today. There better be a package in the mail tomorrow!!

I ordered the hardcover and the audio book from Amazon almost as soon as it went on pre-sale and my account info says they are shipping
tomorrow - WTH ? I deliberately passed on the free shipping - - a tad P.O.'d
since need gift copies anyway went to B.Dalton's and got one there
DebD - they were nicely centered in the top row of the new release section here too - - nicely visible
Oh - I should mention that I pre-ordered the audio as I knew my rinky-dink stores wouldn't carry that. Amazon says they'll be shipping that on 7/15 - who knows why...
