Several breweries have been mentioned and thought I'd add this idea - -
If we are going to give the guys some Maine micro-brew then why not have it be from the place that has a story to go with it ? ?
and by telling the story let Taylor know that we will be celebrating our one year anniversary with him at the Big E
of course I mean the Sebago Brewing Co. - the "birthplace" of the NESP
http://www.sebagobrewing.com/ourbeers.php
click on a label to get details of the beer & the maps give seller locations
they do have a Bass Ackwards Berryblue Ale that is brewed during the Maine blueberry harvest and has a stated availabilty for August > October - - have no idea if it's any good
I'm not much for pale ales or "fancies" but can vouch for their reds and darks - - the Boathouse Brown and the Midnight Porter are both middle of the road types that most people would probably be happy with
there are a couple of glasses - - don't know if they would work with the koozies ? ? ? ?

I love the labels of the Sebago brews, especially Midnight Porter and Bass Ackwards... it's unfortunate it's not "Runaround" Red Ale, instead of "Runabout".

Funny that I never even thought of that one - although I profess to know absolutely nothing about beer as I can't stand the taste of any of it.
But, I think you've got a great idea "brewing"...sorry couldn't resist.

Gritty's has a nice-looking (have no idea what it tastes like) Summer Ale out right now. My local Hannaford is carrying it.
I bought a copy of the August issue of DownEast magazine to put in the Taylor gift today. It has a really nice article about Elvis fans in Maine and those that held tickets to the concert in Portland that was supposed to have been the day after he died. I hope Taylor has a chance to read it.

I am totally confused on the Portland gifts
know I was assigned to it but it seemed like it was rolling along nicely so stopped paying attention
just have one question - - what are we doing for the band ? ? ? ?
anything in case Caroline shows up ?
just decided I'm starting a new thread

Gifts for this weekend....
Rhode Island Stool for Taylor
I'll pick up a cooler, stick some beer in the koozies for the band
If the bocce ball set arrives in time that will go with it...
Maine Luau Theme-I have 2 large colorful vinyl bags to put stuff in...
Taylor-fugly shirt (that's really cute
) Margaritaville book, and
odds and ends that people bring to put in the bag.
Band-Luau Party in a bag-Karen has some fun items, I have Luau CD
and inflatable limbo pole, some tiki shot glasses, and whatever
people want to add
We'll take up a collection to pay for group gifts at preparties so
people can get reimbursed. Everyone can sign the cards, which I'll
pick up...

Ummm - not sure anyone has done that particular item as a gift before - think grimsby had found some lounge / PJ pants with maybe the same design on them but don't know if she got them or not
my son had said large for those though - - Taylor has said before that he wears boxer-briefs btw - - most recent was in Birmingham at the KidOne HFOS event - - think it registered with me because son and little grandson wear them too
good grief lady - you'd pay an arm and a leg to have it sent that way
looks like there is already a lot of stuff for Portland - - don't forget we'll need stuff for his acoustic tour too
