Man oh man this is a tough one.Here it goes my thoughts on it.Don't you think it will be more visiable to Taylor's eyes if NESP is on the seat part top, think about where your eyes are when we sit or stand up and he will be moving it himself when he's doing his stool songs. I think it;s more personnal that way and it may save some bull-shit as Aging Hippie mentioned.It will be in Taylors eyes and lets all face it wouldn't you want Taylor on top of oh well enough said He does have a cute butt.

I forgot to ask a question pertaining to gifts.How does one pitch in the $$$$$$$$$$$$ towards these great gifts I'd love more than anything to help with some funding? I wish I could be at all of his New England shows don't we all but..... would really like to help with gifts. Let me know in a PM any time please.

I don't think the letters  NESP as part of a string would upset anyone - - - and edited out the highlight

what I was referring to was the idea of having New England Soul Patrol spelled out in large letters around the edge

I guess to me that smacks of it being more about us,  i.e. advertising us - - hey look what we did ! !  - -
and less about it being a very personal gift from us to Taylor - something that relates to him creating his music that he will hopefully cherish and use for years to come

besides everyone will know where it came from within 24 hours via the grapevine anyway and have no problem with telling people where it came from - - just don't like the idea of being in anyones face about it - - to me that somehow devalues the gift . . . . .

but hey that's just my opinion - - or actually in this case guess it's more of a feeling - - - - not going to have a hissy over it - - -

Put "It's A Soul Thing" on the seat.

Put "Property of Taylor Hicks" around the edge.

Put a personalized NESP tag (homemade & snazzy looking)
with NESP prominent and a message. Knowing him he'll leave the
tag, and others will see it was a gift without flaunting our
name on the actual stool...

Yes, I like all those three things! I'm not one of the ones going to this show, but that's my input anyway...

I wonder if Grimsby has seen this - I'm still currently at work (making concert fliers...) but wanted to check in here. I like Liz's idea - and Liz - if you want, I can make the tag for the stool. I planned on typing a letter with an explanation for the stool also (if that's ok...) and we can all sign it if we have a chance before the Rhode Island show. If anyone wants to make a donation, PM uhadmeatwoohoo or grimsby5. We'll make sure your name gets signed to the letter also!

etc. Let's see if everyone is okay with this...I think after reading the
book we've got to have "Soul" on it

RE donations, Tricia and I were thinking maybe the week before the shows start up everyone can donate something towards the gifts (maybe $5 for each show you're attending as a guideline?) and then we can reimburse people who have spent money to get them. People
could do less, or more, depending on what they're comfortable with.
The cards will be signed by all names who donate....

I tend to over-think everything - think it's a mild case of OCD - or just having to deal with too many reports to too many PTB  for too many years - - LOL

about the tags - -

the local historical society uses nice engraved brass tags on some of the important pieces -
either directly attached with small brass nails or hanging with a brass beaded chain like would see on an old lamp - hardware stores usually have by the inch

or could use a leather cord cut from the scrap from the seat

hmmmm - - for that matter could have them make a leather tag with a short strap to fit around a rung and a snap closure - - like the really nice luggage tags ? ?

anyway just a thought for  tag options that would be more permanent

liking the head image I'm getting of the matching leather and it wouldn't require polishing like the brass does after a while  - can't see Taylor doing that
