CN8 is a Comcast Cable exclusive station. I didn't realize they have a morning news show, but they do, and they just interviewed Taylor. My DVR didn't want to work this morning, so here's my summary, typing as I listened, so I missed a few words here and there... The interviewer was a pleasant young woman who seemed to enjoy herself.
CN8 interview:
Good morning your soulness.
I’m doing great.
Congratulations, on a successful year on tour, debut album, it’s gotta be an incredible journey.
Every day I wake up and pinch myself. I’m pretty happy.
HFOS.. what made you want to write?
A lot of stories that have led me up to this point, finding your own voice and beating the odds, what I was up against. I wanted to have a positive message.
What’s some of the journey for you, what did you learn from writing?
It’s very therapeutic, kept me grounded, take so many life experiences on the road, not only apply to music, but to every day life. My parents allowed me to explore my dream, but stay practical at the same time.
…
I got to meet the president, it was really cool. People fighting for freedom, that has allowed me to go on American Idol and write this book. Some of the people I’m met along the way, it’s been great.
You’ve been criticized for post-Idol comments. Any regrets?
It depends on how comments are spun. I’ve said all along, if it wasn’t for the show, I wouldn’t be able to have this great success. It’s apparent I’m a very big fan of the show.
Jordin?
She’s a great entertainer, natural ability to entertain. Apparent in last final episodes.
Can you keep that momentum up? (mentions Kelly Clarkson “redoing” her career) Will you burn out?
There are peaks and valleys in entertainment business. Stay true to who you are as an artist, keep artistic integrity intact, then that will carry you through, and you fans.
I have you in my CD player, you’re in great company.
I appreciate that very much. Thank you for having me.
