AH---I love to read your posts. For a numbers person, you did a beautiful job!

I've said all along, when people delve into areas that they don't belong...what business is it of ours!?! Taylor, though quiet accessible to the fans, is still behind a curtain. We (some at least) pretend to know all...but we don't know all. We can't speak for him. We don't know his fears, his daily stress. We're fans, plain and simple, and need to realize that all we can truly offer him is support. Bickering and name-calling is not support. I hope those that caused the demise of graycharles get what they deserve but that they continue to listen to the music and feel the music and love the music. That's what got this all started after all...
AH, I read that post on Touristas and was happy to see it here. I, too, am glad that we are mature here at NESP and respect all opinions and can post freely.

I am trying to give THHQ a shot. The post GC drama there is high and many good and loyal Taylor fans are being driven away by trouble makers. It is sad. I would love to see more positive posts there and hope some of you will continue to post there, to build a positive community.

Amy.. you are still having a problem with THHQ? I will PM you some info !
I emailed Gray today just to thank him for all he did and to tell him
that a lot of NESP members were sorry to see him go, and would
love if it he stopped in to say "hello" here from time to time. This
is the response I got Haha:haha:Haha

Thanks for your message. We last spotted an unshaven and haggard looking Gray waiting in line at JFK for a flight bound for Fiji. All attempts to convince him to carry his MacBook or cell phone so that we could keep him aprised of important business matters were met with a blank stare and an odd chuckle.

Perhaps he'll read your message and be moved to respond, perhaps not. At this point we have no way of knowing. Right now, we're out of work so if you know of anything - keep us in mind ok?

God...you gotta love that sense of humor!!! I think GC would find this place very warm & welcoming!
I'm really going to miss that wit! Thanks for posting this, uhadme.

AH, your post is wonderfully thought out and I for one appreciated reading every word of it. Smile
Liz, that's a really cute answer! I hope Gray gets back from Fiji in time to enjoy Taylor at the Beacon. I hope that Taylor buys him one heck of a nice dinner in New York.

I did read most of the last posts at GrayCharles, and the nasty thread at Boogie, it was all very sad. Gray had opened up and seemed to be enjoying the give and take until it all went to pieces. When he pulled the plug, he really didn't have a choice.

I happened to make some brief posts on the meta-blog thread, responding with a lame attempt at humor to people I knew (and who did understand my point) that got taken out of context and quoted around the boards. That didn't feel very good. I haven't spent so much time online this week, waiting till things settle down. This is a nice place to hang out.

A lot of funky things going down this week, the weather, the world, something set the universe on edge, but the sun came out today and we'll have spring after all.
Margaux, I was saying the same thing last night-something wacky
in the air. I bartended last night and it was a crazy night. We tried to
call a cab for someone at 1:00 a.m. and it was a 20 minute wait
(we don't ever have to wait more than 5 minutes, even in the jam packed summer tourist season). This on a very rainy Wednesday that
normally would be dead. People are just all stirred up Sad

I hope Gray does visit-this place is nice and calm and he'd recognize
most names here Smile
Wow, how loyal and dedicated those Interns are to still be handling Gray's mail without hope of compensation - don't think he ever truly appreciated all their hard work - I mean he didn't even give them proper thank you bonuses at the end or anything Haha

hmmm,  with the welcome mat out maybe we should change that bit of Grayman kryptonite

Sheesh,  I miss this type of fun tongue-in-cheek snarky stuff with people who "got it"
but to play it safe here's a disclaimer:
Att: GC uninitiated - this is not a real post - if it were a real post - it would come with instructions to delete such stupidity  - it is just a joke based on memories - in case it wasn't already painfully obvious

and apparently I am getting hooked on the smilie thingies - gah !
Margaux,
Came back wearing my grownup disguise to tell you how sorry I am that your posts were mis-used and to make sure you know you were most definitely Not one of the people who surprised me.

I went through a withdrawal period too - kept reading here and at Boogie but finally posting here was the equivalent of dipping my toe back in the water.   There are still some sh*t-stirrers lurking on Boogie but Ash & friends and the majority of the posters themselves seem to be cutting them off at the knees pretty well.   You are so well known and respected there you can't possibly think they wouldn't "get" you.

and on a lighter note

also saw that Gray was going to the Beacon - will he recap I wonder - and if so where ? - - - - -

and It was 57 degrees up here at the ends of the earth today so keep the faith folks  " a change is gonna come " - " a new broom sweeps clean" - "april showers bring May flowers " -  etc, etc, -  here's to welcoming the spring - - -

ETA: supposed to hit high 60s up here today - Whoooooo
If Gray recaps, I know a couple places to look, and if I see anything I'll let you know..
But I'd be surprised, he never really posted his review of the CD or told us his favorite song.

I'm looking forward to tonight's cellcert from the Beacon.
New York Times (which hasn't been the kindest to Taylor) says this:

TAYLOR HICKS (Tonight) “American Idol” has sent many singers into the shark tank of Top 40 radio, but this smoky-voiced Alabama crooner, who has more in common with Michael McDonald than with Kelly Clarkson, heads in the direction of buttery soul.

I'll take my soul with butter any time.
