Apparently it is the name of a guitar made in Memphis. But if there is actually a dog named after the guitar, I don't really know !

I cannot take credit for knowing that AllyKat !! I found that info on another board. It is part of the Gibson Guitar Co.

I had a guitar (Christmas present from my parents when I was 13) and I loved it, but I never learned to play (guitar PLUS lessons might have been a good idea LOL). I gave it to my daughter and said to keep it safe from the little ones as I was sure it was valuable. A guitar playing friend of hers spotted it and laughed and said "where did you get the K-Mart Special?". So much for my valuable musical instrument !!

Well....sentimental value is worth something!

Here is a picture of a dobro. It has quite a unique sound, due to the steel plate under the strings.
