whistling, and snapping!

Thanks Margaux when I was watching it, it kept cutting in and out
alot of them do that is that normal or is it my computer? Does
anyone have this same problem sometimes?
Yes sometimes. Think it's the computer. If I close lots of stuff, then run spy-bot & reboot it usually improves it. Whether that's really a cure or just a panacea I do not know.....but for me it seems to work. I have Windows ME or 2000 (can't remember which one now) on this desktop. I have XP on the desktop in the office - no video watching there, and also XP on the laptop, which is the newest & runs really great. (It should for what I paid for it!)

Does this help?

I've tried that Grimsby dosen't seem to really help but thanks for
the idea I'm really outdated I just hve Windows 98, and am really
numb to this computer age stuff if you couldn't have noticed.w00t

Unfortunately I'm somewhat computer literate - need to be for business, and one of my degrees is in Computer Info System. However, college is a distant, albeit hazy memory. Learned most of what I now know just by stumbling along, reading manuals, asking questions....and appling rules of logic.

Well now, isn't that special? Roll Eyes

Do you have Quick Time? It's a downloadable player that allows you to watch movies online. I downloaded it on the laptop last week & watched a video from Portland (stool video). Now that I think of it the download available may only be compatible to XP....although I have it on this desktop (with 2000 or ME)

Maybe your memory size is full or too small....so try increasing the "available memory" I'm always getting message "memory is full" or something like that.

Another thing you could try is to defrag; best to run overnight as it may take long time if you have never done it or not done it in awhile. It will put all the files together instead of spread out....how else to explain it???

A more costly solution would be a new laptop with XP. I just got mine begining of the year after waiting three years to buy one. I had one that worked fine but Michael decided "we" needed a new one. Too bad he decided that as he is never allowed to touch it.Haha

Don't forget our buddy Barb. She's very proficient and said she'd love to help you.

OK I'm supposed to be working now.....lots to do before my 1:00 pm board meeting.

Sometimes if you let the streaming video run all the way through, with the stops and starts, the second time will work like a charm....

Lisa,
when "stuttering" happens it is usually an indication that the buffering process is not keeping up with the play speed - if you just let it sputter it's way through once and then play it again immediately it will usually take care of the problem

this works on places like YouTube, rehearsals.com, etc., and most every site that has an initial loading problem - -

this movie is very high quality and I got a little stuttering on the first run through too but it played perfectly on the "re-run"

hope this helps ..

Grin   Margaux - LOL - - I was typing mine out when collapsed the screen to get into my business program for a phone call - opened it and finished but didn't refresh - -  anyway glad we agree Highfive

BTW - the angle looks like a balcony shot - do you know where this was taken ? ? ?
