I'm staying over Friday to Saturday, I am only alittle over an hour away in CT to the Big E so we're going to leave at some point after the concert. Emma will fall asleep after we hit the car and smooth sailing after that! Woohoo
There is parking at the Big E for $10 at Gates 1 or 9 (we would Gate
1) If you get there early a.m. 8:00 (when gates open) you'll find a space. I'm going to drive there early so we can put the gifts in my car and have a central meeting spot. She said if we tell the parking attendant we're a fan club bearing gifts they'll try to get us a good spot. She doesn't recommend everyone driving, as you get into gridlock. She said the Clarion shuttle is very good and makes a lot of trips. We won't know how late the last trip is until a week or so before as they don't have the shuttle schedule done yet.

We can buy our tickets right at the Clarion, and I think you can get
them online at a discount as well. If anyone leaves the grounds they
need to make sure their hand is stamped for reentrance. She said to wear comfortable clothes and especially comfortable shoes!!! It's a huge place and we'll be walking all day long.

The concert is scheduled for an hour plus encores. She's familiar
with Taylor and thinks it will be a very popular show. It's at the
Comcast Arena stage which is kind of at the end of the Avenue
of States. Outdoor arena. It holds 7000 people. As for the block of
seats "not happening" but she said if we line up early we'll be first ones in and could sit together and would be close to the front. It
sounds like if a lot of us are in line we can kind of swap people in and
out depending on the mood of the rest of the line. Depends on the
performer when the line starts-could be 10:00 a.m. or much later in
the afternoon. She said just to have people keep an eye on the entrance and we'd be able to tell when to start. Everyone be sure to
bring lots of glow stuff Highfive

The Clarion has two restaurants. The Red Parrot is open until 9:00
at night and serves food, under 21 welcome. The Hoops Sports Bar
is open until midnight and serves food until 9:00 21 plus only. For the get together on Friday night, I'll need to know if people are arriving before 8:00 and bringing kids. If we have lots of kids we should do dinner/apps at  the Red Parrot before they close. If it's all adults that will be eating and getting together Friday night we can stay right in the Sports Pub for food & drinks. Either one is fine, I just need to warn them which we'll be eating at so they can tell the kitchen.

We have 50 people on the list so far, so this should be an excellent
weekend!! Woohoo

can sign up and make corrections.Huggy

Dinner get together will be at the Red Parrot restaurant at the Clarion
Hotel at 7:30. The Clarion is at 1080 Riverdale Street, West Springfield. We should have around 20 people there Woohoo

For after dinner on Friday night, people can check out the fair, which is open late on weekends or can go to the Sports Bar right at the Clarion. LOL contact Amy for Fear side trips Rotfl

We have decided on a check in point at the Big E for Saturday
morning. We are meeting at 10:00 at the Maine house on
the Avenue of States just to check in, say hello, etc. Woohoo

Mods will update this thread as other things are finalized. Please
keep all discussion in the general Big E thread so people can find
info easily before the trip-thanks!! Heart
Side trips may be made available on Saturday night after the show too. Haha

Edited to say: Arrrggghhh...  click on the map and hold and you can drag the map around to see what I am talking about..  it is at the end of the Ave. of the States.

The Comcast Arena is the angular thing in the bottom corner I believe. Are the three white things bleachers? And the green area?  Just wondered if someone who has been there could tell us what's what !
It's a grass area of seats and then bleachers. Then alot of standing on the outside of that. I saw Chuck Berry there and stood on the outside and behind the bleachers, didn't make for the best viewing LOL!

I heard theres only 710 seats, I don't know what the 7000 is? I didn't think it was that big. Unless they count how many can sit on the outside at tables etc....
