Now this is exciting! The NO Social Club is a group of musicians who united after Hurricane Katrina "to celebrate the indomitable spirit and culture of their native city." Some of these guys are bonafide FOT (friends of Taylor) including Ivan Neville of the great New Orleans musical family, and George Porter of the Meters (who originated "Hey Pocky Way"). Taylor jammed with Ivan in New Orleans, Porter joined LMBO and Taylor last summer in Denver (if memory serves me right), and the NO Social Club appeared at Asheville's Christmas Jam (as did Taylor Hicks).
The concert is general admission, no tickets, doors open 45 minutes before the show.
