Whoops! I did not realise that the link was faulty for "Once Before I Go" so please check the link out now!
Not to be so gloomy, but in the show, that particular song alluded to Peter's passing away, which is why there was what seemed to be a good one minute pause before at least 2 minutes of applause...
After that song, yes, the ENTIRE audience was in tears...
Hugh was the only person on the stage for that song, and went offstage.
The rest of the cast came out to have their final bow, and eventually he came out singing to this song, "I Go To Rio" which is as diametrically opposed to "Once Before I Go" as can be: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnnTafAQTXQ

I WAS ONLY JOKING
(R. Stewart / G. Grainger)
Ever since I was a kid at school
I messed around with all the rules
Apologised then realised
I'm not different after all
Me and the boys thought we had it sussed
Valentinos all of us
My dad said we looked ridiculous
But boy we broke some hearts
In and out of jobs, running free
Waging war with society
Dumb blank faces stare back at me
But nothing ever changed
Promises made in the heat of the night
Creeping home before it got too light
I wasted all that precious time
and blamed it on the wine
Chorus:
I was only joking my dear
Looking for a way to hide my fear
What kind of fool was I
I could never win
Never found a compromise
Collected lovers like butterflies
Illusions of that grand first prize
are slowly wearing thin
Susy baby you were good to me
Giving love unselfishly
But you took it all too seriously
I guess it had to end
(Chorus)
Now you ask me if I'm sincere
That's the question that I always fear
Verse seven is never clear
But I'll tell you what you want to hear
I try to give you all you want
But giving love is not my strongest point
If that's the case it's pointless going on
I'd rather be alone
'Cause what I'm doing must be wrong
Pouring my heart out in a song
Owning up for prosperity
For the whole damn world to see
Quietly now while I turn a page
Act one is over without costume change
The principal would like to leave the stage
The crowd don't understand

It's a Rod Stewart song that I recently discovered and have fallen in love with.

I first heard it one night driving home from visiting my sister & new niece in the hospital back in February. I had never heard it before but since then I've heard it several times. I immediately thought of Taylor when I heard it.

Sometimes you just hear a song and you know it's perfect...
A Whiter Shade Of Pale
~ Procul Harum
We skipped the light Fandango
Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor
I was feeling kind of seasick
But the crowd called out for more
The room was humming harder
As the ceiling flew away
When we called out for another drink
The waiter brought a tray
CHORUS:
And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly
Turned a whiter shade of pale
He said there is no reason
And the truth is plain to see
But I wandered through my playing cards
And would not let her be
One of sixteen vestal virgins
Who were leaving for the coast
And although my eyes were open
They might just as well've been closed
CHORUS
And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly
Turned a whiter shade of pale

Amy -- would it make a difference if Whiter Shade of Pale was the ITunes Bonus track on Elliott's CD?
You're correct of course. With Brian Less on the organ solo... perfect.
