I loved The Eagles in high school and this ballad sung by Don Henley was and is one of my favorites. I was boy crazy and had lots of crushes and several boyfriends back in the day....this song was the one to turn to after a break up.
The verse in bold is just amazing. When I first heard Taylor's lyric "you can get on with your life baby and I can on with mine" (HOAD), I immediately thought of Wasted Time.
IMO this would be an awesome acoustic tune for Taylor to do someday.
