This is a great story! Enjoy finding out how this song made it's way to what I consider "It's rightful owner". This is my favorite song on the album.
That is a super find Amy ! Thanks !
OK you beat me by a minute - just merged our threads Grin

Found this on Boogie this morning - it is the real story of how TRP found it's way to Taylor and is almost as neat as the rumored one that was around last year
interesting to note that Taylor has chosen to take it back closer to it's original form
hard to believe such a great song languished for so many years - am trying desperately to resist typing the obvious cliche here  Wink

And apparently this was originally posted back in July on C2W but I hardly ever visit there. Too many sites, too little time.
I missed it too and do go there as often as have time but didn't remember this one
The song did indeed find it's way to The Right Place. Very cool to
read about the history on it Cool I often wonder how many potential
hits are languishing on someone's dusty shelves because they got
discouraged the first few times.

I love it that the co-songwriter is happy with Taylor's version and it
came out as they pictured it Heart
This article is great, and is the type of thing Taylor's marketing team should have been pushing to the absolute limit. This songwriter is likely well known and respected in the industry, and his praise would hold some weight with industry doubters and maybe even potential fans. If it were me, I would have been getting something like this out there to anyone and everyone.

(OK, I'm sorry...I guess I really need a job. I had to do housework today!)
Deb, did you notice the co-writer is Bryan Adams ?

think you'll recognize a lot of his songs

AH - I didn't notice that, but now that you mention it, I do recall hearing it before. And I am familiar with Bryan Adams. Even more reason to support my proposition.
That was a cool read....thanks for posting it.

My very first concert in high school was Journey and the opener was Bryan Adams! He wore torn jeans and had bandanas tied around his ankles which I thought was cool....it was the eighties! Grin

Taylor has so much respect from others in the music biz!

Off topic: speaking of Journey....Don't Stop Believin' has been in the top 100 songs on iTunes for a few weeks....I am guessing it was featured in a movie recently and that's the reason it's now in demand for downloading....does anyone know?
