The helicopter has been hovering over the site this morning. It looked like it was doing aerial shots of town also. Cool stuff!
Be careful what you do Amy, they may have some powerful telephoto lenses in those 'copters.

I doubt they want shots of me sneaking on the NESP forum when no one is looking.

Here's a link to the excitement where I am today. I went to high school with them and have known them for a really long time.

amyrebo,I just read this thread, this is great.I love it that nice things happen to people who are so deserving. How exciting for them and for us to be able to watch the progress !!
This is so cool that they came to your area! In 2002, Trading Spaces came to my home town, about 2 blocks away from my house! It was cool! Im such a HGTV/TLC fan--my gfriends and I hung out (kinda like what the NESP does at Tay's bus!

) for 3 days, meeting Paige (the host), Amy (the carpenter--Ty wasnt at that one, bummer!

), Doug Wilson (he's great) and Vern Yip (who is really cool)...having worked in TV production, it was interesting to see how they actually taped the show.
I wish someone would nominate my family! This 1930s built home is NOT very handicapped accessible--we would never have bought it i I knew the MS was going to get as bad as it has since my dx.

Amy--where in ME are you? DHs family are all from Ellsworth/Bar Harbor. My mom in law was born in Castine...small world, ya know?

I live in Cherryfield, work in Milbridge. It's about 30 miles east of Ellsworth. Ellsworth is my nearest hub for Walmart, groceries, shopping, etc.
I just read about this in my local paper (Springfield, MA). Very cool!
I went down early this morning for the final day of work and the family reveal. Thanks to my year of following Taylor, I've learned to get there early! We got a ring side spot just a few feet from the where the majority of the filming took place and where the family was arriving. I hope that this day is also preparing me for the lengthy wait at the Big E.
After arriving at 8:30 and watching the final items get moved into the house, the crew finally assembled at about 10 for the filming of the spectators. I will keep you posted as to when this episode airs, but be forewarned that yours truly will probably be front & center for most of the crowd shots. I was so close to the front and right behind the family being filmed that I cannot be overlooked. Anyway, we spent a good chunk of time screaming & yelling and chanting "Move that bus!" over and over again until they got what they thought was the right takes. I was amazed at how many people it takes to make a show, and with this being a "reality show", I figure a regular show must have many, many more.
Ty came out to do his fake filming of the family arrival with the limousine. It was cute as the first time they tried it, the door that he went to open was locked. So, they had to do it again and then they did it with a fake family. The little girls in the fake family were just having a ball.
Anyway, the family arrived about 2pm. The mom, dad & 3 children and they were very ecstatic to see their family and about 3,000 community members and friends waiting for them. Standing where I was, I didn't realize the number of people that were behind and to the sides of me. It was just amazing. When the bus finally pulled away - talk about delaying gratification - the look on little Tommy's face was priceless. He has a very mild case of autism and he just stood in the road with his hands on his cheeks with a look of amazement on his face. When he realized the camera was on him, he started doing this little dance and the crowd started chanting "Tommy! Tommy!" It was quite the moment.
I do have some photos to share - will post them below here.
