I'm going to update the latest Cohasset info as we've had to change ideas about 10 times.Roll Eyes

I found a Chinese restaurant that's right on the corner of the road in
to the Music Circus. This would be a good place for everyone to pick up their tickets, etc. They said we can do a preparty from 3:00 until
5:30 and have their party area for about 30 people. We can order
drinks (full bar, not just beer and wine) and appetizers. We don't have
to pay or plan in advance, just show up and remind them two weeks
ahead of time. We can bring balloons/decorations,etc. The parking lot
opens at around 6:00 so we'd just have a little time to kill before then,
and then we could hang out at the Music Circus. Even though the
venue people say no tailgaiting, it sounds like people might arrive to
park early and hang out so we can pack some coolers Beer Drinking Smilie
If we decide to go with the baby center charity idea we could even
collect the gifts at that point while we're waiting.

Here's their website: http://www.fengshuicohasset.com/location.htm

I also talked to the Best Western Rockland people who were very
nice. It's about 15 minutes from Music Circus and they will give us
a group rate of $105 a night (once I give them a number of rooms, etc.)
which includes a nice breakfast (belgium waffles,etc.etc.) There is
a sports pub next door called T.K. O'Sheas which stays open until
1:00 if people want to party after the show. Check in is at 3:00 and
check out 11:00. High speed internet in rooms. If you mapquest this
one you have to do the address, not the name. 909 Hingham St.
Rockland MA as it used to be a Holiday Inn and won't show up yet.

I think the Comfort Inn is about a block away. Their rates were a little
higher from what I could tell. They also have availability and includes
a continental breakfast. http://www.bestmahotels.com/rockland

If people are staying in Cohasset and need a room, try to post it here
so we can see how many to tell them and which place you'd rather
book.

It seems like Cohasset is starting to come together. One down Woohoo

Liz, I'm easy...don't let that word get around too much. :-)

This all sounds fine & dandy to me. I'll need one room for 4 people for the night of the 16th.

Have you talked with anyone at the charity to let them know what we're thinking of doing?  It might be a good idea to find out what they need more than anything.  If they would rather we donate money instead of buying a bunch of little things, for example.  It's harder for someone on a limited budget to save up for a new crib or carseat than say, to run out and buy a package of diapers or bottles.
I've got a call in to the charity, they're closed today. I was thinking
we could do a combo...maybe find a portacrib at a secondhand store
(we have a good one here) and fill it with little things, and give them a
check as well. I know they always need the basics like diapers, bottles, and the like and they could use the check for whatever
was really needed.
Liz, I'll need 2 rooms - 2 adults per room for the 16th - - don't think it matters which venue - whatever the groups goes with I guess

not sure what Milt and I will do for Friday night yet - lots of options
Liz, I just checked the Best Western website to see if they offer a AAA discount. They do. For these dates, a AAA member can book a room with the amenities you listed for $84.15. That's for a room with one king or 2 queen sized beds. The standard rate, available to everyone, for the same rooms is $99.00. The highest rate they show online is $110.

The AAA lowest rate at the Comfort Inn is $116.95. There is also a Radisson listed on Hingham Street for a AAA rate of $116.

I haven't seen any of these properties, but just wanted to let people know the AAA rates. For what it's worth, AAA gives them all with 3 stars.

I like the ideas you're coming up with for pre-concert and the charity!
One room in Cohasset for me on Saturday, wherever the group decides to land.
1 room for 3 people in Cohasset for Sat. night.

Best Western sounds great. My two roommates are voting for the waffle breakfast! Haha
Let's start a room list to add to so we can figure numbers....this is
for Cohasset only. Put which place you'd prefer too...

Margaux  1 room 2 people
Amy   1 room 4 people
Aging Hippie 2 rooms  2 adults in each
Tricia  1 room 3 people                                       Best Western

We'll give this a day or two and then I'll call to reserve a block if we
can. It sounds like Triple A might be cheaper than group rate but I'll
ask the sales person.
You can put me down for 1 room 2 people nonsmoking room, unless AAA is the better deal. Thank you!
My ticket is Row AA and I was told that was front row by an employee of the venue. I hope that helps.

Does anyone know how the rows in each section are numbered or lettered?  I don't care which section I get but I do care which row....do they start at "A" or "1" closest to the stage????
