It's hard to believe a year had gone by since that fateful September night. I stood out by the busses for hours before the concert to get a glance of Taylor, and then when he was standing inches in front of me, I could say nothing. I didn't even bring anything for him to sign! Then the concert, we had terrible seats but I came down near the floor and stood side stage and no one told me to leave so I stayed there. Then LMBO at the Asylum. What a show...Jeff playing two saxes at once and Tiny Dancer by Brian Less. It was mesmerizing, even if Taylor didn't show up.
I didn't meet any of you that night (with the exception of Alicia's mom), but I'm glad I found you later on. And thanks Amy, for letting me take that trip down memory lane.

Tricia - - great banner today !
Amy,
thanks for starting this - still find it hard to believe it has been a year since I met the original group of you in Portland - - - wish LindaT didn't have a conflict and could join us next week and that Concetta could fly up too
Tiny Dancer is still one of the videos I still watch when surfing on the Tube - thanks again for capturing it
and am still thrilled that I got to see Portland's " famous Taylor moment" from the front row - -

ETA :
watching this brought up a memory - - one that makes the energy exhibited in performance you just watched even more remarkable to me
Ray - the AI head of security who hovered around Taylor like a hawk - placed 2 young kids on boxes up against the half wall of the "cattle chute" and right in front of me and my d-in-law - - they both looked like they might have some health issues and when I looked at Ray he nodded towards the boy in front of me and smiled when I put my hands up in a catch position
it must have been pre-arranged because as soon as Taylor noticed they were there he came over and leaned down to shake their hands - - at that point his face was only about 5 feet from us - - I remember thinking - my god that kid is going to drop from exhaustion - he looked so tired and pale that my hubby even noticed and hollered in my ear that Taylor looked sick - - we found out later that his allergies were giving him a hard time and he was feeling pretty lousy which was probably the reason he never made it onto the Asylum stage that night
a cute sidenote - well cute to me anyway - my son is just shy of 6 feet and has long arms - he was standing between the two kids and was able to reach over the chute wall far enough to get a hand shake too - - I can still see the quick smile on Taylor's face when he realized the hand belonged to a young man about his own age - - my loving son then turned to his mother and wife with a huge cat ate the canary grin and asked if we would like to touch his hand - brat ! !
