RE: 4th of July Festivities
Yes, I did get sauced
I'm convinced I broke at least one toe. Very sore & swollen today; didn't help that I had appointments today, and had to walk & climb stairs, etc. Sitting, relaxing with ice bag, contemplating having dessert soon....

Grimsby -- ouch!
I hope you've cancelled some of the appointments and can relax for the rest of the weekend. Dessert is a marvelous idea. |

.
Grimsby . . owwwch . . maybe you should have it looked at . . may not do much except tape it to it's undamaged neighbor but at least you'd know. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Lisa . . you definitely win on our local weather description today . . it sucks ! Cold, damp, cloudy & dreary just short of rainy . . not to mention almost "coastal foggy" in some places. We've opted to blow off some plans involving the outdoors and stay home - at the same time for once - and watch a movie or 3. ( Of course I may have the laptop open to the Rothbury festival iClips webcast with an earbud discreetly plugged into one ear . . )
Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and cannot remain silent - Victor Hugo - You can be passionate about the music without all of the other crap - a wise wizard - |

RE: 4th of July Festivities
Weather is perfect on the Cape-warm, bright sunshine, pretty sky, and a little breeze. I can hear the deck at Kevin's calling me
Sorry you're getting what we've been having up north!

RE: 4th of July Festivities
Can you see any fireworks from Kevin's?
It's mostly sunny, but there was a front that went through about 90 minutes ago, just when we stopped at our new favorite ice cream stand. Earlier we went to see "Up", which like all Pixar animation features is delightful, but there were parts when I needed tissues... If I knew there was an outdoor dining/drinking spot where we could have a good few of the fireworks, that would be my desire. Most likely we'll stay home, listen to them outside, see a few of the high ones from the porch, and watch the Pops on TV. |

RE: 4th of July Festivities
We did hear a great mix of music appropriate for the day on XM's Channel 15, which is "Uncle Sam Radio" for the day. Everything from Lee Greenwood to Hot Tuna, and George M Cohan's "Yankee Doodle Dandy" as channeled through Jimmy Cagney.
Here's one from Steve Miller I hadn't heard for a long long time: Chuck Berry and Linda Ronstadt (and you might recognize the 2 guys on guitar and BGV): and John Mellencamp ROCK in the USA (embedding disabled): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzYkjvq-iLE |

RE: 4th of July Festivities
Apparently toe not broken
just bruised & swollen & tender. Michael looked at it last night, felt each toe to make sure both feet were the same, etc. Slept w/ice bag anyway. Today...well, they move independently, and I can, once again, pick up a pencil with the troubled toes! However I've spent much of the day in the lounge chair relaxing, elevated & with ice. Seems when I walk a bit foot swells up, and hurts.Tomorrow will be here soon enough....with lots of appointments. Did not go to RI - decided to stay home & take "day off". However I'm answering phone & booking appointments for tomorrow. Michael is washing the boat (third time) and hoping to get it in the water today....as tomorrow he will have no time! |

RE: 4th of July Festivities
The weather was beautiful down here today. The fog & clouds broke just as we got into Bar Harbor at about 9 this morning and were walking to our parade viewing post. I am sunburned on my face & neck! It feels like I haven't been out in the sun in forever (because I haven't!). We had a wonderful day but Emma played out so we decided to head home prior to the fireworks craziness. We walked the Shore Path, visited quite a few shops, had lunch on the pier, ice cream at Ben & Bill's and walked out onto the sand bar and let Emma walk in the ocean for a bit. I'm feeling a bit worn out myself! Will watch Macy's fireworks show (on now) and the Pops at 10.
Sometimes I think, it's just a simple thing I close my eyes and I realize all I really need Is a love I had, and the love I had to give Cause anything else there is – is insignificant In this tiny life. |
