Cool Angels On The Atlantic-Idea for future project
I saw an article about this couple in Readers Digest and fell in love with their cause. They bring kids that have never been to the beach to the beach Cool Thought it might be a cool thing for NESP to support in some way in the future-maybe Taylor will play near their location and we could do a beach parTAY fundraiser with Mullet Toss!! Woohoo

I was thinking the same thing Margaux. Maybe there could be something like this in New England if we put our heads together. I got the nicest note from the founder too-they sound like such cool people. It would be fun to work at that place as a volunteer someday Huggy

This is such a neat idea. I know I always take for granted the fact that I live so close to the Atlantic.

The founders get Google alerts for AOTA which led her here to our little home-she's happy we're spreading the word. If anyone has ideas to help get them some PR it would be really appreciated. How close is Philly to
Ocean City? Is there a cool place for a shadow show in Ocean City?

This is a fantastic idea and you would be surprised I bet at how many people/kids have never had their 5 senses working overtime.......on a beach. The ocean and beach hold a very special place in my heart because my mom loved it and have soooo many memories spending time on them with her. In fact she is resting very peaceful at one of her favorite beaches.GrinGrin and I couldn't be any happier for her....oh my getting all teary eyed on this one. Two best things for your soul music and the beach....yup soul food. GREAT,GREAT IDEA.

I'll get down to the sea somehow

Liz, OC is approximately two hours from Philly. I'm not that familiar with the venues there but I'm sure you could find something. This is a great cause. Every kid should have the chance to experience the beach, mine absolutely LOVE it.

How about acoustic Taylor singing on the beach by campfire light? Thud
That show could raise some serious cash!! Woohoo

Okay, back to reality Grin

ETA So I just checked out Ocean City NJ and found out they have a huge boardwalk and an outdoor Music Theater. Might be cool to spend a night there before or after Philly if a group goes down there. Maybe we can tweet Taylor about this place! Woohoo

The Ocean City Music Pier...
The Ocean City Music Pier dates back to 1928 when construction began to create a new concert hall for the community that had just lost a large portion of the boardwalk to a fire in 1927. The Music Pier that you see today was dedicated on July 4, 1929 with much fanfare. The Music Pier lived up to its name with the Municipal Orchestra entertaining crowds twice a day, seven days a week. It was an Ocean City destination then as it is today.

The Music Pier is an entertainment venue suitable for a great variety of shows from stand up comedy to musicals, and from soloists to the Ocean City Pops orchestra. Nationally renowned musicians and music groups make appearances at the Music Pier and various pageants call the Music Pier their home including the Miss New Jersey pageant. The Ocean City Pops has a summer concert series from July through October that showcases the beautiful music of the orchestra as well as special guest appearances from critically acclaimed entertainers.

The Music Pier has had major lighting and audio renovations to compliment the redesigned and enlarged stage in addition to remodeled staff and client/artist areas. The installation of air-conditioning in the auditorium culminated the interior improvements in the spring of 1993.
