3/21/10 Robert Cray - Tupelo-Salisbury . . blues that make you anything but blue
.
Sometimes I hear a song in the morning that puts me into "binge mode" for that artist. It happened today with Robert Cray . . this album floated to the top for me as a good representation. And it's a live album - always a plus in my book. Robert Cray - Robert Cray Live At The BBC ed note: since MySpace bought and destroyed the wonderful resource known as iMeem this album is no longer available in a handy embeddable widget . . you can sample the album at one of these sites Last.fm .... http://www.last.fm/music/Robert+Cray/Rob...At+The+BBC Rhapsody .... http://www.rhapsody.com/robert-cray Pandora .... http://www.pandora.com/music/album/rober...ive+at+bbc lala .... http://www.lala.com/#album/4326270392627...At_The_BBC iLike .... http://www.ilike.com/artist/Robert+Cray/...At+the+BBC Artist info link . . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Cray Quote:According to the book Guinness Rockopedia, "the 1980s 'blues revival' revolved around Cray. His blend of soul vocals and blues guitar work won approval from the 'old guard' - Eric Clapton, Tina Turner, Diana Ross - and a younger audience, who pushed him into the platinum bracket." Cray is a multiple Grammy Award winner. Oh thanks AH, just LOVE ol Robert. He played many years ago at the Lobstah Festival in Rockland very foggy memories then but he was awesome live. I just remember standing, swaying and dancing with a cold one in hand .
Great horn section I think.![]() " I was Warned" is a very good one too. I GOT MY TOES IN THE WATER ASS IN THE SAND NOT A WORRY IN THE WORLD A COLD BEER IN MY HAND LIFE IS GOOD TODAY. Zac Brown |

Very coincidentally, I checked out the Tupelo schedules, and Robert Cray will be live at Tupelo Salisbury in March. Tickets not yet on sale.
One to think about. |

Definitely one to consider! Soul to me is a feeling, a lot of depth and being able to bring to the surface that which is happening inside, to make the picture clear. The song doesn't matter. It's just the emotion, the way it affects other people. - Aretha Franklin |

RE: Robert Cray . . blues that make you anything but blue
Just a thought . .
> Robert Cray's brand of blues should be a good fit for Taylor fans ( jukebox above if not familiar ) > New venue to check out in easily accessible location > Good time for a spring road trip in New England Does that sound like a good fit for a NESP get together ?
